Transition Planning


A system-wide transition team has been developed as one of the “Next Steps” in implementing the Five Year Strategic Plan. It includes central office staff, administrators, mayors, chair of county commission, clergies, business representatives and parent facilitators. The first meeting was held May 28, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. at the Ramey Educational Center. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for July 10, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. and August 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. The purpose of this team is to ensure a smooth transition of realignment and closure of our two smallest schools (Akron and Sunshine).


In August, local school transition teams will be developed and other meetings will be scheduled. This team will include teachers, students and parents. Please keep in touch with your community representative to stay abreast of all planning. This will allow your input for upcoming meetings. Comprehensive 5-Year Strategic Plan (2013-2018)


The Comprehensive 5-Year Strategic Plan (2013-2018) is on the website for viewing.   The information is located under the community and parents  tab. 

We are in the process of providing updates on projects that have been scheduled for completion over the next two (2) years.   Phase I projects at the sites of Moundville Elementary School and Greensboro High School  are scheduled to be completed by the 2014-2015 school year (August 2014).   Phase II projects at the sites of Hale County High School and the Hale County Technology Center are scheduled to be completed by the 2015-2016 school year (August 2015).
