Transition Planning

A system-wide transition team has been developed as one of the “Next Steps” in implementing the Five Year Strategic Plan. It includes central office staff, administrators, mayors, chair of county commission, clergies, business representatives and parent facilitators. The first meeting was held May 28, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. at the Ramey Educational Center. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for July 10, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. and August 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. The purpose of this team is to ensure a smooth transition of realignment and closure of our two smallest schools (Akron and Sunshine).

In August, local school transition teams will be developed and other meetings will be scheduled. This team will include teachers, students and parents. Please keep in touch with your community representative to stay abreast of all planning. This will allow your input for upcoming meetings. To find out who your community representative is contact your school.
