Program: Prevention and Awareness for Total Health (P.A.T.H.)
P.A.T.H. is a curriculum resource that provides a comprehensive approach to
teaching students foundational wellness concepts. The lessons are centered around
prevention topics and embed additional life skills and character traits. We want our
students to be well-equipped with lifelong skills that will help them combat
challenges, protect physical health and safety, foster kindness, enhance
relationships, promote mental wellness, and build positive coping skills and
Resilience.
The Hale County School System offers comprehensive wellness lessons as part of
our educational program. Schools may expand upon these lessons to reinforce
district and school policies related to reporting bullying and cyberbullying, suicide
prevention, substance awareness, and abuse prevention. Beginning September 14-
18, 2026, all schools in the Hale County School System will implement the P.A.T.H.
Curriculum.
Grade Level Overview: A grade-by-grade list of P.A.T.H. lesson titles, learning
objectives, and prevention topics is posted at https://tinyurl.com/2wuc48rz.
Reviewing materials: All student-facing P.A.T.H. materials are available to
parents and guardians through a Parent Access Link. To request it, contact your
child’s P.A.T.H. coordinator by email or phone. The link is typically sent within 5
school days and opens the videos, handouts, and optional discussion questions used
at your child’s grade level. The Educator Edition may be reviewed by appointment.
Opting out: Parents may opt their children out of these lessons by completing the
district opt-out form, available from the school’s P.A.T.H. coordinator. Reviewing
materials and opting out are separate processes. Parents are encouraged to request
the Parent Access Link and review the materials first, and may opt out at any point
during the year
